It works well but coming back to LR it is a TIFF in a DNG wrapper. You can drag a file directly from LR or from your OS folder structure into DeNoise which allows you to edit as a RAW. With my new laptop (M1Max 24GPU, 32GB RAM) and given that I tend to crop files a lot so the final tiff is much smaller resolution than the starting off 50MP A1 file, most of my images are processed in under 1s per image now I don't even bother fiddling with settings in DeNoise anymore.just use Standard and let it process. I usually do not push it too far and have not observed artifacts others complain about. When I use Denoise, I run it from LR as a TIFF after all other adjustments are complete.
I typically only use Topaz Denoise from Photoshop and only if I shot using high ISO or I've pushed and pulled the image a lot and it has enhanced the noise patters. I would say that 80% of the time I just end up using Neat Image because it simply just does a better job. I typically try DeNoise to see if the results are OK. I love DeNoise and Sharpen AI! I batch process in Denoise after my final export as jpg's from LR. One thing about Topaz products is that they do a lot of updates for continuous improvement. Photographers spend a lot of money with Adobe for products that do not work well for handling high ISO noise or noise that occurs when bringing details out of shadow areas.
It will sharpen and control any remaining noise. Instead of using Topaz denoise, I use sharpen AI, when needed. A separate noise reduction would be necessary. That was not the case when I tried to you Adobe products.
I leave the software on default settings and always find great noise reduction while maintaining sharpness and details. I have a Canon camera and the free Canon DPP4 does a great job of handling noise. I have no idea how Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop will work with your cameras. Maybe it's gotten better? I went with DxO for DeepPrime and never looked back. Uneven application of NR, weird artifacts, unusable for batch processing. seems to do goofy stuff to the background I think running it as a tiff seems to have the better result. And I have also waited till I export the tiff file as a jpg then run it. Then there are times I process my file, export as a tiff and then run DeNoise. But how do you use DeNoise? I usually run all my files through LR first, sometimes I do run Denoise within LR. I love Topaz DeNoise, its fast, it saves tons of time from the old PS way, and for me adds just enough sharpness. How do you use Topaz DeNoise AI products?.
